Transit Senior System Analyst

Our Breeze department maintains a dedicated in-house staff to support our vehicles, operational and passenger interface data system which includes both hardware and software. Currently, we have an opening for a Senior System Analyst to manage and oversee technology used for the department operations, including but not limited to Trapeze, AssetWorks, Genfare, and integrated technology components. The ideal candidate has experience (and/or training in process) in improvement, business analysis, change management, and/or information technology project management.

Job Description:

About the Position

This position will manage and oversee technology used for the department operations, including but not limited to Trapeze, AssetWorks, Genfare, and integrated technology components. The position must understand the dynamics of public transit, how technology supports transit functions, and that specific software systems may change while the tech functions need to continue to support the delivery of transit. If selected, you must manage department utilization of technology, report writing, data reporting, integration of equipment and third-party additions, troubleshooting, coordination of technology training for department users, and future technology improvements.

The position will work collaboratively with EIT to deliver IT solutions specific to Transit needs, understand and apply the EIT standards, and communicate with EIT proactively, professionally, and effectively on behalf of the Transit Department. Monitor, Track, Troubleshoot, and Resolve

Actively monitor Breeze technology systems and integrations for issues.Identify trouble patterns to enhance overall system performance.Lead troubleshooting, triage hardware and software issues, and facilitate assistance from vendors as needed to minimize downtime of the systems.Identify and communicate priorities to Operations, Maintenance and Planning teams based upon business impact and needs. Coordinate resources with vendors and internal teams to efficiently address issues impacting business operations.Develop full knowledge of all aspects of systems.Work independently in self-managed capacity and escalate issues as needed based upon severity of organizational impact.Engage county resources as needed to meet Breeze objectives.Communicate weekly priorities to stakeholders and provide monthly status updates to the leadership team.Provide oversight and management of the relationship between the Tripspark Customer Service Manager (CSM) and Breeze.Work in partnership with EIT department to ensure Transit department needs are met and software is functioning as expected.Work with fare collection system (GenFare) to ensure fareboxes are updated as needed and fare payment systems function as expected.

Manage and Utilize Technology for the Transit Department

Write reports, coordinate the integration of equipment and software, and facilitate training for other users.Review existing software to look for opportunities to leverage functionality to better support Breeze business processes.Research new technology to better serve Breeze Transit and develop, prepare, and present opinions and recommendations to executive staff.

About the Schedule

Work Hours:

Full-Time, 40 hours per week.

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The position is involved in on-call technical support 24/7/365 with mandatory cell phone required, per Administrative Directive 9.05.

About You

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors' degree from an accredited college or university in specific field of endeavor such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration -AND- 4 - 5 years of related experience.

-OR- Masters' degree from an accredited college or university -AND- two (2) or more years of related experience.

Work experience may substitute for formal education at the discretion of management.

Work experience and/or training in process must include improvement, business analysis, change management, and/or information technology project management.

Valid Florida driver's license by date of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

PMP (Project Management Professional) certified. Experience in transit management software and fleet maintenance software.

Physical Demands: Employees in this role must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs. Employees can use handling devices (dolly, cart, etc.) or work with another team member to lift and/or move excessive poundage of 50-plus pounds.

CJIS Clearance: The successful candidate will be subject to an extensive background check(s) as a part of the hiring process.

About Everything Else

Starting Pay Range: $88,000.00 - $93,000.00, based on experience.
