Position Overview: The Transition Manager is responsible for overseeing the transition of field service operations, including the onboarding of new clients, system implementations, service model changes, or any other transformation initiatives affecting field operations. The role focuses on ensuring smooth transitions by managing timelines, resources, and stakeholders while ensuring service quality and operational continuity. This individual will work closely with internal teams, vendors, and clients to ensure successful project outcomes and ensure that all processes are aligned with organizational goals. This job description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of the duties and responsibilities of the position, and the duties and responsibilities may change without notice.Transition Planning and Management:Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of field services transitions, ensuring that all elements (people, process, technology) are aligned and integrated.Define the scope, goals, timelines, and deliverables for each field service transition initiative.Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams (e.g., field services, IT, operations, and client teams) to manage the transition of services effectively.Stakeholder Engagement:Act as the primary point of contact between internal teams, clients, and third-party vendors during the transition process.Regularly communicate transition progress, risks, and issues to senior management and other stakeholders.Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment, gather feedback, and address concerns promptly.Process and Workflow Development:Collaborate with field services teams to develop or refine workflows, processes, and documentation needed for the smooth transition of services.Ensure that the transition processes are standardized, efficient, and aligned with best practices.Oversee the identification and resolution of any process bottlenecks or operational challenges during transitions.Risk and Issue Management:Proactively identify risks, challenges, and potential issues during the transition and develop mitigation plans.Escalate and address any transition-related issues promptly to minimize disruptions to service delivery.Conduct post-transition reviews to assess the effectiveness of risk management and identify areas for improvement.Training and Knowledge Transfer:Oversee the development and delivery of training for field service teams to ensure they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills for the transition.Ensure proper knowledge transfer between teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth handoffs during and after the transition.Performance Monitoring and Reporting:Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure that the transition is progressing as planned and meeting established goals.Provide regular status reports on the progress of the transition, including timelines, resource allocation, and potential issues.Ensure all deliverables are completed on time and in alignment with the service transition plan.Continuous Improvement:Analyze and evaluate the success of field service transitions and recommend improvements for future initiatives.Collect feedback from stakeholders, field teams, and clients to improve transition strategies and processes.Post-Transition Support:Ensure smooth handoff of operations to the ongoing field services team after the transition.Provide post-transition support to address any initial challenges or concerns that may arise once the service is live (hypercare). What you will bring to the team: Education:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or related field.Certifications in Project Management (e.g., PMP) or Transition ManagementExperience:5+ years of experience in field service management, operations, or transition management, with a proven track record of successful transitions in a field services or technical environment.Experience with service delivery models, field service management software, and managing cross-functional teams during transitions.Experience in Customer Service managing client-facing transitions and ensuring that customer expectations are met or exceeded during service delivery changes.Skills:Strong project management skills, with expertise in planning, resource allocation, and budgeting.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Strong understanding of risk management techniques and tools.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships with various stakeholders.Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Jira).Compensation:Qualified candidates can expect a salary range of $85,000 - $115,000.Note: Compensation is benchmarked on local Texas area market rates.
