Job Summary

Georgia Power is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Transmission Analyst to join our Integrated Transmission System (ITS) team. This key position will perform in-depth analysis of ITS Transmission Services and Peak Load evaluations, which are crucial to the company’s financial health and strategic risk mitigation. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring accurate delivery obligations, monitoring tariff activities, and providing critical budget updates.

 

Key Responsibilities

NTCDO Deliveries & TSR Review: Determine Georgia Power Company’s (GPC) Non-Territorial Contractual Delivery Obligations (NTCDO) deliveries. Review Transmission Service Requests (TSR) impacting ITS Transmission Investments. Provide monthly budget updates to Joint Accounting. FERC OATT Monitoring & Auditing: Monitor Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Open Access Transmission Tariff (OATT) activities of other ITS participants. Audit NTCDO report calculations to ensure accuracy. ITS Peak (ATLR) Calculation & Audit: Ensure accurate calculation of ITS Adjusted Territorial Load Ratio (ATLR) net peak loads for parity payments. Support successful audits of these calculations. ITS Working Groups & Committees: Participate in NTCDO and ATLR ITS Working Groups and Committees. Advocate for and support the company’s positions and policies. TFCAT Contracts Review: Review and audit data supporting Transmission Facility Cost Allocation Tariff (TFCAT) contracts. Support system improvement burden responsibilities among Southern Operating Companies (TFCAT). ITS Budget Updates: Participate in monthly ITS Budget updates. Provide NTCDO budget forecast changes to financial teams. Monitor Southern Company’s Open Access Same Time Information System (OASIS) site for OATT transactions. Non-ITS Investment (TSF & DSF) Analysis: Conduct analysis of Transmission Service Facilities (TSF) and Distribution Service Facilities (DSF). Ensure recovery of transmission facilities investments not included in the ITS but used by other ITS Participants (DSF & TSF). Southern’s Transmission Cost Allocation Analysis: Perform cost allocation analysis of Southern Company’s Transmission Utilization Rate (TUR) for Operating Companies. Allocate shared services expenses to ITS Participants. Respond to data requests from ITS Participants.

 

Job Requirements Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related field.

Experience and Knowledge

Demonstrated Safety focus.  Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience.  Experience in the following areas is beneficial:  Power Delivery Accounting, Power Delivery Planning, ITS, Transmission Tariffs (OATT), Transmission Operations, Transmission Policy, Transmission Project Management, and/or Power Delivery Project Management. General knowledge of Transmission, Distribution, Operations, Resource Planning, Transmission Policy, Open Access Transmission Tariff, and related experience is a plus. General industry knowledge of Georgia PSC, FERC, NERC, and SERC is a plus.

 

Skills and Behavioral Attributes

Knowledge of FERC regulations and OATT activities is a plus. Proficiency in data analysis tools and software. Advanced skills in data analysis tools in Excel is a plus.  Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Experience in the energy or utility industry is preferred.
