Role Definition: 
This position will be responsible for managing transmission control system development for various applications. The candidate will contribute to the design and development of transmission and torque converter control systems with broader team define transmission control strategy.  You will be provided the unique opportunity to directly impact machine performance and durability for a variety of drivetrain programs. And work closely with the transmission platform engineer, performance engineer, software engineer and integration engineer to identify transmission control features, accountable for clutch control logic, shifting performance and test parameter optimization accordingly to ensure acceptable machine performance, meets PQVC requirements. Your decisions have significant impact on drivetrain performance, durability, reliability, quality, and product development schedules.

What you will do:
•    Working with design, mechatronics, systems integration, and software engineers to create, develop, and optimize hardware and controls for powershift transmissions.
•    Planning and executing on-machine control software calibration and validation.
•    Managing control system development, specifications, and design reviews.
•    Designing clutch control strategies to meet drivetrain performance and durability targets.
•    Work with simulation engineer performing simulation for clutch control systems and correlate with on machine test data
•    Collecting and analyzing data to understand and optimize controls performance.

•    Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
•    Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Extensive understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
•    Analytical Thinking: Extensive knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
•    Problem Solving: Extensive knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
•    Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Clear verbal and written English communication skills.
•    Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
•    Education: Bachelor’s degree and above in an accredited engineering curriculum

Top candidates will also have:
•    Controls development tools and process experience (Powershift transmission controls preferred)
•    Technical knowledge and experience in clutch design, transmission oil system and development: testing, calibration, simulation, controls, or design
•    Ability and interest in working in a varying environment (test ground/field/lab)
•    Ability to operate machines (after training)
•    Demonstrated ability to make priority decisions while working multiple projects simultaneously.
Additional Information: 
•    Travel requirements may be more than 20%
•    This position is located in Qingdao, China
