Transmission Engineer I-SR - Protection & Control
**Description** **$66,400.00 - $130,650.00** **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** + Develop and design transmission stations that adhere to all applicable codes, industry standards and regulatory requirements, and AECC standards and guidelines. + Utilize Autodesk CAD software, PLS-CADD, and other industry standard software, with the assistance of the Designers, to create drawings as needed. + Provide technical support during construction and commissioning of projects. Consults with and supports Power Delivery Operations personnel on construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operations of equipment. + Reviews as-built drawings and participates in the department record update process. + Performs procurement support tasks such as developing site-specific equipment specifications, reviewing vendor quotations and making recommendations for vendor selection, and approving manufacturer drawings as needed. + Supports project budgeting and cost estimating as requested. + Supports developing or updating design standards and equipment specifications as requested. + Provide training to junior engineers/customers as needed. + Represents the Transmission Engineering department in a professional and ethical manner to all internal teams, Distribution Cooperatives, Consultants, Suppliers, and all other External Entities. Delivers superior customer service to internal and external customers. + Develops and maintains professional and technical knowledge of related current scientific developments and government regulations. + Due to our obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to our customers, the ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance. + Provide design concept oversight-If PE Certified + Review/Approve drawings, designs, and equipment specifications-if PE Certified + Create protection, control, metering, and SCADA designs for substations, switching, and autotransformer stations ranging from 13 to 161kV. + Develop one lines, three lines, AC/DC, schematics, wiring, conduit, cable schedules, and panel layouts. + Develop station equipment specifications for low voltage equipment and materials to include CTs, PTs, transformers, breakers, MODs, relays, RTUs, control switches, AC/DC panels, low voltage cable, and lighting. + Configure RTUs for assigned projects and supports installation and testing. + Provide engineering support during project installation and commissioning. + Review metering, SCADA, and relay settings and coordination of protective devices. + Due to our obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to our customers, the ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance and the ability to work outside your regularly scheduled office hours when necessary is an essential function of the job. + Performs any other related duties as required. **Minimum Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university plus 0-2 years of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience with a strong emphasis on engineering design within the electric utility industry Engineer I - Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university plus 0-2 years of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience with a strong emphasis on engineering design within the electric utility industry. Engineer Intern (EI) License in the state of Arkansas no later than 12 months after the hire date. Engineer II - Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university plus 2-4 years of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience with a strong emphasis on engineering design within the electric utility industry. Engineer III - Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university plus 4-8 years of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience with a strong emphasis on engineering design within the electric utility industry.
