The Transmission Line Engineer specializes in designing high voltage electrical transmission lines, incorporating both civil and electrical engineering principles. With expertise in transmission systems up to 500kV, you will create efficient designs and ensure projects adhere to technical standards. Salary: $130-150k per year Responsibilities Design Development: Create cost-effective and innovative designs for high voltage electrical transmission lines, balancing creativity with standardized processes. Department Representation: Represent the Engineering department in inter-departmental meetings and collaborate with the Sales team and customers as needed. Project Oversight: Monitor project progress to ensure alignment with schedules, budgets, and customer expectations. Perform engineering tasks independently, ensuring quality and adherence to project objectives. Team Coordination: Oversee and support team activities, providing guidance to ensure projects meet engineering and design standards. Travel: Undertake short-term travel as required by project assignments. Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as needed to support project and department goals. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on experience in transmission line design. Skills and Knowledge: Design Expertise: Demonstrated experience in preparing cost-effective designs within an EPC environment, with in-depth knowledge of transmission engineering, including routing, conductor selection, structure determination, plan development, and material takeoffs. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with structure and foundation design, and proficiency in engineering application software such as PLS-CADD. Standards and Regulations: Strong understanding of engineering standards including NESC, IEEE, ASCE, ACI, and ANSI relevant to transmission design. Communication Skills: Effective oral and written communication abilities to interact with team members, clients, and stakeholders. Documentation: Extensive knowledge of design documents and drawings necessary to complete projects. Constructability Review: Perform and support team members during T-Line constructability reviews.
