Job Title: Transmission Line EngineerJob Description
We are seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to manage projects from engineering through construction and design with construction best practices in mind. This role involves working on overhead (OH) line, structural engineering, and some underground projects.
Responsibilities
+ Review and ensure quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) of a wide variety of transmission line project submittals before packages are sent to clients.
+ Lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational skills.
+ Communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
+ Work independently and succeed in new environments and with new clients with minimal oversight.
+ Obtain a California Professional Engineer (PE) license as soon as possible if not already licensed.
Essential Skills
+ 7 years of experience in transmission engineering.
+ Proficiency in PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
+ Knowledge and experience with OCalc and standards from PG&E, SDG&E, Portland General Electric, and/or APS (AZ Public Service).
+ Engineering degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (Civil/Structural preferred).
+ Experience with transmission line design for voltages ranging from 69kV to 230kV, with some projects up to 500kV.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ California PE license is a significant advantage.
+ Experience with Civil T-Line disciplines including steel pole design, foundation design, and tower design using PLS-TOWER.
+ Preferably located in the Bay Area, Southern California, or Phoenix, or willing to relocate.
Work Environment
The work environment is mostly remote, hybrid, or in-office/client sites depending on the candidate's location in the Western United States and their preferences. The team consists of approximately 13 people, including 8 engineers and leadership who also contribute to production. Employees are located in California, Texas, Florida, and Pennsylvania. This position offers a leadership opportunity in the near or far future, depending on the current skill level, within a nationally recognized firm with a large power delivery team.
