Transmission Planning/Interconnection Study Engineer

Job Description

Actalent Engineering is currently seeking an experienced Transmission Planning/Interconnection Study Engineer to support HV utilities projects remotely for an engineering firm located in Texas.

Qualified candidates should have at least 2+ years of experience in the industry working within software packages such as PSS/E or Powerworld. Applicants will serve as SMEs for generator interconnection-related studies and conduct analyses related to load flow, transient stability, and short circuit.

Specific Duties:Perform power system impact studies including load flow, shortcircuit, and dynamic stability analysisPrepare reports, letters, one-line diagrams and transmission mapsProcess, generate and maintain data as required for otherengineering related studiesTake responsibility for the timely completion of projects assignedwhile meeting all project quality and budget objectivesIdentify training needs and present to the Engineering Manager

Requirements: 2+ years of Transmission Planning2+ years of PSS/E or Powerworld experience2+ years of interconnection studies experienceBachelor of Science (or higher) in power systemsExperience with PSS/E and Powerworld
