The Outpatient Stem Cell Transplantation, Leukemia and Lymphoma team serves patients and families with hematologic malignancies. The unrelated hematopoietic stem cell program is one of the fifth largest in the nation and is regarded as one of the leaders in this field of clinical care. Responsible for identifying unrelated donors by utilizing the latest research in HLA matching, antibody screening, clinical criteria, and the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) database. Potential and/or selected donors are evaluated for stem cell or bone marrow donations for patients requiring allogeneic transplants. Family members may also be tested as potential related donors. **Preferred Qualifications** **Role Purpose** Coordinates the care of transplant patients. Collects and evaluates existing data to determine the suitability of potential transplant recipients and donors. Monitors, evaluates and reports postoperative organ function and complications for the transplant recipient and live donor. Provides discharge instruction, coordinates post-transplant follow-up care, monitors patient status, and facilitates the physical, social and emotional rehabilitation of the patient.
