Transplant Medical Science Liaison - Player Coach

We are excited to announce that currently we are looking for an Associate Director Medical Science Liaisons in Transplant or Nephrology (Player/Coach) to initiate scientific dialogue within the therapeutic area of transplant centers through scientific discussions with clinical physicians, staff and other stakeholders, on behalf of our client.

Associate Director, MSL (Player/Coach)

The MSL Player Coach will have all of the functional responsibilities of the MSLs and will also provide coaching and mentoring for MSL skills development and overall performance.  The MSL Player Coach will be responsible for a territory to manager added coaching responsibilities. Goals will be accomplished by the development and execution of a business plan in concert with the business objectives of the organization and appropriate internal Clients.

Minimum qualifications:

Advanced clinical/medical degree (Pharm D, MD, PhD) from an accredited college or university requiredMust be a Licensed Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Physician, with a minimum of four years of directly applicable clinical experience in nephrology.Minimum of 4 years of experience as an MSL requiredMinimum of 1 year of transplant experience required.In vitro diagnostics experience preferredPrevious experience as transplant coordinator or nurse at transplant center preferredManagement experience required; previous MSL management experience preferredValid driver’s license required​Travel up to 70% of the time requiredProduct launch experience preferredProven track record of successKnowledge of customer segments and market dynamicsDemonstrated expertise in discussing scientific content and context to multiple audiencesDemonstrated level of proficiency with support technology (PC and CRM tools, Microsoft Teams)​Duties may require compliance with client requirements that all those performing services on-site be fully vaccinated

Position Descriptions and Duties:

Player/Coach role will make field visits as needed: to develop and motivate MSLs for attainment with objectives; to assess and monitor field activity and work schedules; to monitor and manage field reportingCommunicate with Client field/regional managers on regular and timely basisAssist with the planning and delivery of training and periodic MSL meetingsHandle performance reviews, personnel issues, discipline and termination of MSLsReview and approve expense reports; monitor compliance with expense policies.Monitor complianceMonitor time-keeping and attendanceServe as an internal medical and scientific resource responsible for developing strategic communications and other materials supporting product information and clinical application.Work with internal colleagues for the client to share relevant scientific information internally from journal articles to keep the various teams aware of scientific news within the transplant or oncology/hematology marketSupport the use of our client’s products through HCP advocacy development and implementation of peer influence programs.Develop and maintains strong scientific knowledge of the current competitive landscape and competitive messaging.Upon request, present clinical data to healthcare professionals (scientific peer to peer) including physicians, academic institutions, researchers, and other health care professionals. Work with stakeholders regarding investigator-initiated trialsProvide approved information to customers to ensure access to current medical and scientific information as necessary.Upon request, assist or lead regional speaker bureau or online training programs in support of client scientific information and products and services.Supports advisory events to ensure accuracy of and clinician access to up-to-date scientific and clinical data.Attend medical congresses to develop relationships, build advocacy, and present key data. Represent our client at scientific congresses and/or advisory boards.An understanding of commercial strategy, clinical market expansion, health economics and reimbursement codingExcellent communication and organizational skillsExperience and knowledge of molecular diagnostic assay technology

The potential base pay range for this role is $180,000-190,000 annually. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
