Overview Fairview is looking for a transport aide to join our team at our Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN. Job Summary: The transport aide facilitates the care of Emergency Department patients receiving ancillary department services including transporting patients to Radiology, delivering specimens to the Laboratory, delivering or retrieving materials. Periodically will stock supplies and maintain cleanliness of the Emergency Department. Schedule: 0.8 FTE (64 hours per pay period) day/evening/night shift (mix of 830a-5p, 330p-midnight, 5p-1:30a, 11p-730a) every other weekend About the location: AWARD-WINNING CARE FOR THE MINNESOTA RIVER VALLEY Fairview Ridges Hospital is proud to be a part of the south metro region. Responsibilities Job Description Job Expectations: Transports patients between the Emergency Department and designated departments for treatment, admission or discharge. Assists medical staff in the transfer of patients from the bed to a gurney or wheelchair for transport to other medical departments within the hospital for treatment, admission or discharge. Assists with admissions, transfers and discharge of patients. Observes patient condition during transport and reports adverse symptoms to nursing staff. Transports patient supplies and patient medical equipment from one department to another. Hooks patient monitor equipment/oxygen up after returning from tests. Maintains patient treatment areas for new patients. Stocks linen in patient treatment areas. Stocks medical supplies in patient treatment areas and bedside carts. Cleans patient rooms assuring professional presentation. Assists with bathing, dressing, undressing, ambulating and obtaining specimens from patients. Reports to the nursing staff abnormal vital signs, unusual appearance in bodily fluids and changes in patient’s appearance. Performs BLS and assists with critical patients. Assists patients and families with orientation, discharge, providing comfort and safety of patients/families. Demonstrates and shares knowledge of Fairview, entity, and department policies and procedures. Patient confidentiality Safety Emergency Preparedness Infection Control Code 21 (Behavior Crisis) Qualifications Required License/Certification/Registration Requires ability to provide written validation of current basic life support (BLS) or ability to obtain written validation upon hire.
