The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is seeking a Transport Driver to join the team at the Woodward Resource Center (WRC). This is a full-time position with HHS. What You'll Do: + Deliver food and supplies from the Central Distribution Center to statewide customers, primarily the State of Iowa facilities in the Department of Corrections, the Iowa Veterans Home, and HHS. + Assemble orders from customer purchase orders, stack onto pallets, and shrink wrap in a manner to ensure food is secure. Use the delivery schedule to ensure orders are ready for timely delivery. + Correctly load trucks for delivery, considering even distribution of weight, type of product, and order of deliveries. + Unload and receive merchandise. Check merchandise received compared to delivery documents to ensure product received meets standards and orders. Check condition of delivered goods for damage. + Date and rotate stock so that the product which was received first is also delivered to customers first. Store merchandise in proper locations. Make recommendations as needed concerning stock levels and if products need to be replenished. + Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks in the warehouse. + Monitor condition of trucks, and mileage. Report to supervisor any need for major repairs, or routine maintenance. Key Competencies Successful candidates for this position will demonstrate the following competencies: + Possession of a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air brakes unrestricted-REQUIRED + Operation of heavy trucks/tractor trailer in a safe manner + Familiarity with motor vehicle laws, rules, and regulations + Operation of warehouse equipment + Ability to follow directions and work independently + Working collaboratively with customers to meet their needs + Awareness of warehouse operations including stock management, inventory, receiving, and issuing.
