Job Description

We currently have an opening for a Transport Supervisor in our Stanwood, MI location. The Transport Supervisor is a key member responsible for building and maintaining carrier relationships and ensuring the achievement of performance targets for the Transport team.

 

Pay Range: $75,000 – $85,000. This role is eligible for a 10% annual bonus.

 

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•    Will work closely with Uber Freight to resolve any carrier, customer and or CSR related issues as well as assisting on all related transportation matters.
•    Manage core carrier group, including private fleet, to ensure all carriers maintain a 98% service level, make sure carriers adhere to the dock schedule, ensure core carriers are within standard in all lanes
•    Be accountable for actual freight cost vs budget and carrier routing compliance.
•    Meet with current/prospective carriers re: service or compliance issues or changing needs
•    Evaluate prospective carriers and possible addition to the core carrier group
•    Analyze and report on logistic deductions and accessorial and facilitate recommendation for reclamation
•    Oversee carrier compliance to Primo Brands and federal and state standards
•    Facilitate the development of new processes within the transportation department and communicate and train employees as needed
•    Monitors exception website for analysis of service level report and accurate reporting
•    Participates in customer visits and assists with customer communications.
•    Partners with Planning, Logistics and Customer Service to ensure customer orders and needs are met according to plan.
•    Lead, coach and develop transport employees for future and current business needs
•    Complete, update and run various reports to monitor metrics and opportunities
•    Fill out peer and employee evaluations, and meet with employees to discuss results
•    Runs daily, weekly and monthly KPI Reports, updates shared files.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain or other relevant field
•    5 or more years’ experience in transportation, including 2 or more years managing carrier relationships and rates
•    Prior experience in the consumer goods industry desired, food or beverage preferred
•    Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Transport Systems (I2 Transportation Management System)
•    Knowledge of safety processes and guidelines related to transportation – Strong computer skills with knowledge of Word and PowerPoint and experienced analysis capabilities utilizing Excel and Access
•    Strong negotiating and influencing skills with the ability to reach win-win solutions with internal and external partners
•    Demonstrated success leading, motivating and coaching individuals and teams
•    Safety focus
•    Effective written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to build relationships
•    Demonstrated success in project management, problem solving, continuous improvement and achieving metrics
•    Excellent follow-up skills with a customer focused approach – Strong work ethic with the ability to travel up to 25% regionally and nationally for vendor, customer and internal meetings
•    Knowledge of safety processes and guidelines related to transportation (DOT)
