Transportation Aide

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1.       Provides resident transportation for miscellaneous needs.

2.       Follows established schedule for resident transportation.

3.       Monitors operating condition of vehicles and reporting irregularities to maintenance supervisor.

4.       Keeps vehicles fueled.

5.       Cleans wheel chairs daily following a pre- planned schedule.

6.       Reports incidents, accidents or changes in condition to the RN Supervisor immediately.

Qualifications needed:

Holds and maintains a clean and valid Maryland Driver’s License. 1-3 years previous experience driving a van or similar transport vehicle. Knowledge of clinical practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to long term care. Must be able to effectively communicate with older adults in a manner that conveys warmth and professionalism
