**Role: Transportation Analyst, L6**
**Role Purpose:**
To provide tactical operations and business support to Diageo’s third party and plant transportation operations while focusing on achieving NA Supply’s cost and service goals!
**Decision Making:**
The role of Transportation Analyst will be expected to provide transportation input and support for Logistics and NA Supply operations and initiatives.
**Key Outputs/Results:**
+ Support seamless execution of Diageo’s transportation operations
+ Support delivery of Transportation’s financial and service targets
+ Responsible for building and maintaining positive relationships with Diageo’s transportation partners
+ Support the successful delivery of Diageo initiatives and projects which impact the transportation function
+ Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
**Financial Responsibility:**
+ Coordinate invoice payment of transportation vendors
+ Help develop AOP
+ Supervise transportation expenses vs. AOP
+ Provide costing estimates to other Diageo departments
+ Perform various cost analyses
**Management Responsibility:**
+ This position reports to the Manager of Transportation Operations
+ This position will actively manage 3rd party transportation suppliers
+ This position has no direct reports
**Complexity of Role:**
The role of Transportation Analyst will intersect with all of the other functions within CS&S as well as many departments across greater NA Supply! The primary objective of the role is to facilitate the smooth performance of the transportation link in Diageo’s supply chain. Key to achieving this objective is establishment of effective relationships with our key stakeholders. These collaborators include Third Party Logistics providers, Diageo CS&S, Commercial team and the Innovation & Conversion teams.
Diageo’s supply chain is dynamic. Our transportation operations need to be flexible and forward-thinking in order to provide effective support to the business. The Transportation Analyst role is accountable for working with our transportation providers to ensure they adapt to Diageo’s changing business needs. This role is one of four Transportation Analyst positions. The analyst workload is balanced across the business units. Each analyst will have tactical responsibility for a subset of Diageo’s transportation operations.
While many of our transportation operations are well established and mature, there is no shortage of opportunities to improve our cost base and service levels. As such, the Transportation Analyst will also become involved in various projects crafted to drive continuous improvement.
The Transportation Analyst position is based in Stamford, CT and travel may be required 10-15% of the time.
**Qualifications and Experience:**
+ 2-5 years of practical supply chain experience and relevant undergraduate degree
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills
+ Proven ability to lead & build third party relationships
+ Understanding of general financial and accounting principles
+ Project management experience
+ Significant solid understanding of SAP and Microsoft Office Suite
