DescriptionThe Transportation Analyst is responsible for providing operational, financial and analytical support for imports, inbound and outbound transportation areas. Works to improve department performance through analysis involving freight expense, carrier performance, service proposals and other initiatives. Responsible for day-to-day operational execution, follow-up and customer service.
Job Responsibilities Complete daily routing process to accomplish the highest transportation service level at the lowest possible cost through modal and carrier selection Coordinate and maintain carrier performance metrics and scorecards Provide customer service support to the entire company to meet each department’s delivery and service requirements Facilitate effective communication between product vendors, purchasing department, customer service department, DC’s, Big O locations and “Direct” customers Ensure accuracy of data to support the import and domestic transportation management systems such as rates, contact information, appointment windows, route updates, container status Support freight payment audit/approval/payment Verifies or disputes import and domestic assessorial charges (demurrage, detention etc) Files and maintains carrier claims for damage and loss Complete other analysis, reporting, projects, and duties as assigned by the Transportation Management Team Other duties as assigned.
