The Transportation Analyst II role is responsible for ensuring timely, damage free delivery of Donaldson products throughout North America. This is a great role for a critical thinker with a passion for logistics who enjoys problem solving. Ideal candidates for this role will have strong analytical skills, a background in distribution network design and execution strategies, and experience working across multiple modes of transportation (LTL, FTL, parcel). This is a hybrid position with an office based in Bloomington, MN.
Role Responsibilities:
Analyze our transportation network to develop proposals for improvements in service delivery and cost.
Leverages data and critical thinking skills to execute projects to supply chain operations that increase distribution efficiency and visibility.
Communicates distribution strategy. Creates SOP’s, educates, and trains shipping teams in the use of transportation applications to support department priorities.
Manage strategic carrier relationships in all modes including but not limited to Less-than-truckload (LTL), parcel, and full truckload (FTL) to support strategic logistics plans.
Responsible for all procurement and benchmarking activities related to securing competitive transportation pricing for LTL carriers.
Develop carrier scorecards, manage carrier KPI’s and conduct quarterly business reviews.
Measure supply chain performance through department KPI’s (on-time performance, cost savings, and OS&D claims) and report to management.
Forecasts trends, analyzes risk, develops, and monitors metrics, acts as subject matter expert for logistics.
Ensures timely payment of carrier invoices through freight audit & pay application.
This position supports manufacturing and distribution facilities, procurement, engineering, finance, and transfers groups
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business management or related field OR at least 7+ years of experience in the logistics field
4+ years of professional level logistics or transportation experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Thorough understanding of surface transportation management terms and concepts, especially less-than-truckload (LTL) freight.
Proven problem solving, decision making, and organizational skills.
Exceptional analytical skills, strong functional knowledge of MS Excel and Power BI
Proven experience working with large data projects.
Direct experience with logistics procurement, contract negotiations, and rate management.
Basic knowledge of DOT hours of service rules, freight claims, hazardous materials shipping
Demonstrated knowledge of lean principles and DMAIC Process
APICS CSCP, CLTD, or CPIM a plus
Experience working with Oracle EBS, and Navisphere TMS a plus.
