The primary duties and responsibilities of this position are to manage and support Base Support Vehicles and Equipment (BSVE), Weight Handling Equipment (WHE) and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to ensure PMs and/or repairs are performed in a timely manner.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to\:
Actively demonstrating leadership and commitment to Safety and Quality Control by developing, implementing, monitoring, and improving initiatives focused on contract performance. Oversee mechanics; work closely with the Navy customer to meet the requirements for BSVE as identified in the contract. Requires expertise in Base Support Vehicles, Equipment, and managing Transportation Assets including WHE/MHE, which consists of cranes such as portable and jib cranes. Management of onsite rail team to move assets as needed on base and perform maintenance of the rail, and locomotive engines. Provide innovative solutions to BSVE to create effective and efficient processes for delivering the customer requirements. Ensure compliance with vehicle safety, licensing, and registration regulations. Ensure all employees are compliant with safe working practices and use company provided tools and resources. Support the entire leadership team in delivering sustained supervisor performance to the Navy. Ensure compliance with existing Union Collective Bargaining Agreements in the execution of contract requirements. Experience in large Facility Support Services or Base Operations Support contracts within Base Support Vehicles and Equipment function desired; experience in Maximo or another CMMS preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in managing Transportation/Cranes Operations in projects of equivalent size, scope, and complexity. Knowledge of Navy NAVFAC P-307 and other applicable codes and standards (local, state, and federal). Understanding of GSA vehicle processes and requirements as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Required\:
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Submit to and successfully pass Pre-employment Drug Screening and Background Check. United States citizen. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Able to effectively communicate, both written and verbally. Computer skills, to include the ability to use Maintenance Management Systems, and software programs such as Microsoft Windows, Outlook, and Excel. Time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.*
