We are looking for a seasoned leader in urban development and transportation planning to help grow our western Canada presence and Calgary office.  You will be trusted by public agencies and/or private developers to shape projects across Canada ranging from transportation project business cases to site development master plans. Recent Arup projects include the Calgary Airport Rail Connector Study, Sunalta Main Street Project, Eglinton West Light Rail transportation planning and Transit Oriented Communities (TOC), and site development projects such as the Wellington Basin plan in Montreal.

You will have the opportunity do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.  Support active projects as a project manager/director leading and mentoring our multi-disciplinary project teams Help shape our growth strategy in Canada with a focus on the West that aligns with Arup’s values Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients Act as a bid director for major planning and transportation project pursuits Establish hiring needs based on the market, current projects and current opportunities, and working closely with the Canada leadership to share resources from established offices until local capacity is developed

Is this role right for you?

Bachelors degree in Urban Planning, Engineering, Architecture, or similar field of study 15 or more years of experience in city development and/or transportation projects Professional accreditation or licenses (P.Eng, RPP, RAIC) Client-side experience (public or private developer) or a strong client-focus as a consultant   Strong knowledge of the local market Bilingual (English/French) is an asset

Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Calgary is 170,000 to 200,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Calgary will differ.
