Transportation Assistant
Summary This position will report to the Assistant Fiscal Officer (AFO) at the applicable facility. The incumbent serves as a member of the Facility Fiscal Service staff in VISN 7 and has responsibility for all aspects of domestic and foreign Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel to include Local Travel, Donated Travel, Detail Travel, and Limited Open Travel Authorization (LOTA) Travel. Responsibilities Duties to include but not limited to the following: Incumbent serves as Agency Organization Program Coordinator NOPC for the government charge card program. Incumbent monitors cardholder transactions to ensure travelers follow guidelines and regulations for use of the Individually Billed Account (IBA). Incumbent is knowledgeable in initiating salary offset and tracking payments until account has been paid in full. Incumbent serves as approver and is responsible for monthly reconciliation of their Centrally Billed Account (CBA) in accordance with regulations. Incumbent is required to make decisions to prepare travel authorizations in accordance with approved travel requests and supporting documentation. When applicable, incumbent arranges travel to accommodate for reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities or special needs. Incumbent processes requests for issuance of travel advances via EFT or A TM withdrawals utilizing the government travel card when applicable. Incumbent aides YISN 7 when the Disaster Emergency Medical Personnel System (DEMPS) is activated and is responsible for ensuring all employees deployed have ETS accounts. A/OPC expedites issuance of government travel charge cards prior to deployment. Work Schedule: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., (EST) Monday through Friday Remote: This is a remote position. Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12/26/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS7 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS6. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience, GS-07: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-6 or above in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Example of Specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: knowledge of all aspects of employee travel program; Electronic Travel System (ETS) System; concur, create travel orders, authorizations, and other specific types of travel, obligate travel and check vendor information, knowledge of extensive travel policies, procedures, restrictions, required documentation, per diem allowances, travel regulations, methods and practices, knowledge of travel charge card programs; ability to monitor cardholder transactions. knowledge of Individually Billed Account (IBA), ability to initiate salary offsets and tracking of charge card payments. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: Work is sedentary and will require standing, walking, bending, sitting, and filing of travel documents.
