About the Position: This position is located in the US Army Sustainment Command, Logistics Readiness Center, located in Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Responsibilities Provides Do it Yourself (DITY) / Personally Procured Move (PPM) entitlement briefs to all active-duty members retiring or separating. Provides for and conducts orientation sessions and counseling for personal property customers. Performs audits utilizing the Defense Personal Property System (DPS). Interprets and advises of the intent, coverage and content of instructions, guides, precedents, and regulations pertaining to shipment and storage of household goods. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the federal service which includes 1) Providing counseling and assistance on transportation services and regulations regarding (property shipments, entitlements ) to DoD personnel and their families , 2) Utilizing an automated personal property systems to access, retrieve, and/or generate various transportation data and reports and 3) Reviewing transportation guides and regulations covering government and Do it yourself moves. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer Skills Customer Service (Clerical/Technical) Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Term Appointment NTE - Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 13 months. Extensions may be possible in accordance with guidance on the job announcement. Term Appointment NTE- Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 13 months. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years depending upon the needs of management. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
