Work where you matter.** **A Brief Overview** ​​The Transportation Associate is accountable for safely transporting patients to and from treatments at the Avera Sacred Heart Cancer Center. Performs all duties and responsibilities in such a way as to demonstrate and support the hospital's Catholic heritage and Avera co-sponsorship values of hospitality, compassion and stewardship.  Provides care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards and Catholic Ethical and Religious Directives. **What you will do** + Provides transportation for ASHCC patients to and from treatments at Avera Sacred Heart Cancer Center when notified of patient need by RN-Supervisor. + Maintains a clean and safe vehicle with regular vehicle maintenance. Examples include wash and vacuum inside of vehicle when visibly soiled, oil changes, and tire pressure/wear. Report safety concerns related to transport vehicle immediately to supervisor. + Maintains a safe driving record. + Reports safety concerns related to patient immediately to RN-Supervisor. + Demonstrates dependable attendance and reliability: This includes accurate and timely reporting of hours worked, participation in unit meetings and in-services, neat and appropriate appearance, and acceptance of responsibility, flexibility, and adaptation to change. + Displays effective communication skills: This includes maintaining confidentiality, resolving problems, recognizing and accepting cultural diversity, utilizing age appropriate communication, and using appropriate speaking, writing, and listening skills. Reporting any concerns or care needs to RN - Supervisor. + Demonstrates accountability: Notifies RN- Supervisor of absences immediately, and provide transportation services in a safe and efficient manner.  Demonstrates behavior compatible with ASHH values: Individual will provide quality services to our customers, including patients, families, coworkers, physicians, suppliers, etc. This includes the display of quality work, friendliness, and attention to customer wants and needs. + Demonstrates basic problem-solving, decision making skills, and priority setting as necessary to perform job duties. This includes knowing and using hospital/department policies and procedures, solving problems constructively, demonstrating loyalty and teamwork, and responding to unexpected events calmly and appropriately. + Participates in mandatory in services and/or computer based training as stipulated by the department and/or hospital. **Essential Qualifications** The individual must be able to work the hours specified.
