Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Transportation BIM Specialist, we'll count on you to:

Utilize automated design software and engineering knowledge to prepare preliminary and final plans with no direction from the Engineer or technical professionalPerform quantity estimates and design calculationsDevelop highway and roadway projects in a 3D digital delivery environment, working in close coordination with the project teamParticipate in the collection and analysis of data required for roadway/highway engineering designProvide strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including ability to mentor direct preparation of drawings by other BIM Specialists or other staff of lesser experienceAccurately model BIM elements in the correct special constraints of the modeling environment, using the current 3D softwareExecute all Digital Delivery requirements identified on the projectBe open to opportunities to work with variety of clients, projects, digital delivery staff and or contractor representatives

Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree in Civil Technology, or combination of education and relevant experienceA minimum of 3 years of experience with civil engineering/site development projectsKnowledge of CAD, design development, construction documents, technical and engineering principlesDemonstrates hands on experience using Autodesk (AutoCAD Civil3D) or Bentley (MicroStation Open Roads) design software for model based digital deliveryStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, including ability to gather, organize and interpret data for design developmentOral and written communication skillsMicrosoft Office skillsUnderstanding of conveyance and collection piping systems, profile development, and site grading are a plusAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture

Required QualificationsTechnical degree or a minimum of 3 years related industry experience Technically qualified with 3D design software and document management infrastructure  Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools Experience with 3D Coordination tools Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational traits are essential Intermediate understanding of engineering or architectural concepts
