Transportation Construction Inspector

JMT’s Allentown based Construction Management Team is seeking Transportation Construction Inspection professionals to join our team. We have multiple positions available on projects throughout PennDOT District 4-0 in the Scranton, Wilkes Barre and Hazleton areas. District 5-0 project locations include Monroe, Northampton, Lehigh, and Schuylkill Counties. Our primary clients are the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. The successful candidate will apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety, conformance to plans, specifications and codes. Essential Functions and Responsibilities + Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations + Performs routine tests on concreate, soils and other materials + Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes. + Gathers and maintains record documents + Makes field notes and computations Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities + Perform other related duties as assigned Required Skills + Computer Proficiency + Active driver’s license Preferred Skills + Client Requested certifications, including: NICET Level II or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction + NECEPT-Bituminous and Concrete Field Technician + ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician + CDS V-3 and/or ECMS Wave 5 Experience Required Experience + High school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience) + 2 or more years of highway or bridge construction inspection experience Preferred Experience + Associate or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management + Previous PennDOT and/or PA Turnpike Inspection Experience Benefits JMT offers outstanding opportunities for career and professional growth.
