SummaryManage and direct work activities of drivers/carriers and coordinate the flow of goods to our customers efficiently, safely and legally for our business. The Transportation Coordinator will serve our customers efficiently and consistently while reducing cost of deliveries through proper driver/ carrier management and effectively routing inbound and outbound loads. This individual will have contact with drivers, sales, supply, logistics as well as possible customer on a daily basis. Incumbent must be able to work any shift to satisfy the demand for flexibility of scheduling to ensure operational success. This includes, but is not limited to, day shifts, night shifts and weekend shifts.
Schedule: Mon-Fri, first shift
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for overseeing coordinators coverage of all freight and repowers daily while optimizing route efficiencies. Work directly with supervisor to prepare monthly trainings / refresher trainings for POD groups. Take lead role in absence of supervisor Act as main liaison between sales, carriers, and customers. Respond to customers, sales, and carriers efficiently, thoroughly, and professionally. Weekly service scorecard sent out to top volume carriers and direct supervisor/manager. Weekly report on designated KPI’s sent to direct supervisor. Reports: included but not limited to, daily transfer report, weekly FourKites compliance report, holiday shipper’s schedules and sending to supervisor and carrier partners both internal and external. Attend weekly service calls with transportation coordinator and assigned carriers to share metrics, important information and relay questions or concerns to supervisor. Covering for all transportation coordinators and their responsibilities when absent Other duties as assigned. Education RequirementsREQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED
PREFERRED: BS or Associates Degree (Logistics, Transportation or Business); Knowledge of the transportation function along with working knowledge of DOT regulation requirements
This position has a target wage of $24.00 - $30.00 per hour, based on shift, experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance). Overtime may be available.
