Kimley-Horn's West Palm Beach, Florida (FL) office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their Surface Transportation/Roadway team! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities Support our growing Surface Transportation practice and will require working on drainage engineering and project managemnt tasks for large and small-scale, public and private transportation projectsThe candidate will develop concepts, preliminary engineering and final design for FDOT, municiple, and local agency projects.Work in a dynamic team environment on a range of projects including surface water management studies, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, analysis and design, flood studies, bridge hydraulics, green infrastructure planning and designPrepare Hydraulic/Hydrology studies, drainage reports, design documents, and design plans and specifications for transportation projectsTechnical writing in the form of memorandums, feasibility studies, regulatory submittals (including CLOMR/LOMR submittals to FEMA), and master plansAssist with developing scopes of work, associated budgets,preparing final design plans, specifications, and construction cost estimatesYou will flourish on both building meaningful internal and external professional relationshipsYou will work closely and collaboratively with other industry leading professionals, various jurisdictions, and contractors Qualifications 4+ years of relevant roadway/highway drainage design experiencMunicipal roadway drainage design experience required, FDOT experience desirableWorking knowledge of local agency and FDOT design standards and specificationsProfessional Engineering (P.E.) LicenseProficent in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStationWorking knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS (ArcHydro experience a plus), ICPR4, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS (1D and 2D), and SWMMAbility to effectively communicate with internal and external partners including clients, sub-consultants, and utility companiesPositive attitude, self-motivated; sense of urgency to produce high quality workAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesEntrepreneurial spirit with the potential/desire to lead a practice and manage clients and a team Why Kimley-Horn?
