The Transport Specialist is responsible for providing safe, reliable transportation to patients and their families into Community Health Network facilities for predetermined appointments; they will make deliveries to and from CHNw facilities and patient homes. 

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications

Applicants for this position may provide assistance in Valet when there are no scheduled appointments. The Transport Specialist serves as a bridge for patients and Community to assure access to necessary medical services. It is a vital role in addressing social barriers and promoting access to CHNw through assistance in transportation, to ensure safe and timely patient arrival.

·       High School Diploma or GED Required (Required)

·       Three (3) years’ experience in a customer service related field required. Three (3) years’ experience in patient/customer transport preferred. (Required)

·       Five years or more of driving experience

·       Clean driving record as defined by Community Health Network policy

·       Knowledge of traffic routes of Indianapolis and surrounding counties

·       Chauffeur’s license and/or commercial driving experience preferred.

·       Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle

·       Ability to function independently

·       Written and oral communication skills

·       Good interpersonal skills

·       CPR skills

·       Must possess, by specialized training and/or experience, specific age-specific competencies to deal with the needs of the patient population served

·       Good visual, auditory, and coordination skills necessary to safely operate a motor vehicle
