Transportation Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Transportation Engineer to join our team. This role will involve leading projects and serving as the primary point of contact for both private clients and municipal agencies. The ideal candidate will handle all aspects of traffic, bridge, and highway work, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and in compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership: Serve as the project lead, managing all phases of transportation engineering projects, including traffic, bridge, and highway work.Client Interaction: Act as the primary point of contact for both private clients and municipalities, ensuring effective communication and project coordination.Regulatory Compliance: Prepare and submit state regulatory permit applications, including Traffic Signal Permitting and Highway Occupancy Permitting.Technical Documentation: Prepare, review, and finalize bid plans and specifications. Conduct quality control reviews for plans and reports.Report Preparation: Compose letters, memoranda, reports, applications, and studies as required for project documentation and client communication.Project Coordination: Collaborate with Transportation staff, clients, contractors, attorneys, PennDOT, and residents to ensure project objectives are met.Project Management: Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project requirements.

Must-Have Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.0-10+ years of experience in Transportation, Highway, and/or Traffic Engineering.Experience in highway design, traffic engineering, and municipal traffic engineering reviews (preferred).Familiarity with working on projects involving municipalities and/or public and private sector design projects (preferred).Experience with PennDOT regulations and procedures (preferred).Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply; prior experience is a plus but not mandatory.

Desirable Skills:

Strong organizational and project management abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in engineering software and tools related to transportation and traffic engineering.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently as needed.
