Job Description
The Transportation Project Manager will be responsible for the planning, design, and management of transportation infrastructure projects, including roadways, highways, bridges, and public transit systems. This role requires a strong understanding of civil engineering principles, excellent project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
ResponsibilitiesManage 1-5 project types within the public sector at a time, ranging from roadway design, bridge, railway, transit, and transportation.Handle project sizes ranging from small ($100,000 or less) to large ($300 million).Prepare project schedules, budgets, and progress reports.Lead the team in the design of city streets, bike and pedestrian facilities, trails, and transit facilities using AutoCAD, MicroStation, InRoads, and Civil3D.Collaborate with engineers, architects, urban planners, and public officials to align project goals.Bid on projects and write proposals.Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure project milestones are met.Work with local, state, and federal agencies to secure necessary permits and approvals.Develop project concepts, feasibility studies, and preliminary designs.Essential SkillsProficiency in MicroStation.Experience as a Transportation Project Engineer.Expertise in Transportation Civil Engineering.Roadway and Traffic Design skills.Knowledge of infrastructure development.Familiarity with ODOT standards.Stormwater management expertise.Proficiency in InRoads.Geometric roadway design and traffic studies.PE license.Experience in engineering management and bid evaluation.Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil3D.Geometric dimensioning skills.Project management experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsProfessional license.Experience working with public agencies.Familiarity with ODOT/WDOT standards.Work Environment
This role offers a hybrid work environment, requiring 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. Standard working hours are 7 AM to 5 PM, with flex time available depending on client site visits. The team comprises 15 members in the Transportation department.
