We invite you to build your Transportation career at HDR. We are looking for a motivated Highway/Roadway Engineer to serve in a technical role on the engineering development of urban and rural highway/roadway projects.
Previous experience with TDOT highway design, construction phasing/maintenance of traffic, concept alignments, geometric layout and roadway modeling is preferred. Interchange design and coordination of survey, grading, drainage, utilities and layout of other various site items is a plus. Project involvement may range from planning and feasibility analysis to final design and through the construction phase.

Primary Responsibilities
As an employee-owner in this role, we’ll count on you to:
Oversee the work of Designers and EITsPrepare detailed engineering designs for roadway and highway projectsServe as technical liaison with client on project effortsOversee completeness and accuracy of project team’s work; working with the Project Manager to assist the team in meeting overall project objectives and client expectationsMay also assume some project management duties and have a fair amount of client interactionBe open to opportunities to work with a variety of clients, projects and staff through HDR’s collaborative work sharing efforts across North AmericaPreferred Qualifications
5 years of experience in highways and local roads engineering projectsExperience in marketing including preparing presentations and technical proposalsTDOT and local government experience and relationshipsDemonstrated hands-on experience using Bentley (Microstation, Open Roads) or Autodesk (Autocad, Civil3D) for model-based digital deliveryRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree Previous experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design Professional Engineer (PE) license Hands-on experience with Highways and Roads CAD engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3dMS Office knowledgeExcellent communication and organizational skills Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
