Opportunity:
As Transportation/Fleet (Logistics) Manager, this role is responsible for all transportation duties including planning, directing, coordinating and maintaining fleet vehicles and equipment for all company locations.
Day to Day:
Overall development of transportation plans, strategies, procedures, controls and organization. Serve as a company expert and ensure compliance with all fleet management, transportation related federal and state laws and regulations, including compliance with the following organizations: BMV – Bureau of Motor Vehicles, DOT – Department of Transport, FMCSA – Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, IFTA – International Fuel Tax Agreement, and IRP – International Registration Plan. Management of all fleet related safety programs and transportation records. Maintain driver qualifications & employment files in partnership with HR. Drug & Alcohol testing & record compliance. Build, maintains and assist in Fleet, Equipment Inventory and Asset Control Assists in ordering trucks, trailers, equipment, Etc. Liaison with property and casualty insurance License Plate and vehicle registration renewals Assists in transportation related training and presentations as needed.
Skill Set:
Knowledge of current DOT and FMCSA regulations and transportation laws Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources Team player with strong communication skills Ability to appropriately prioritize tasks to meet varied demands. Previous experience in fleet management required. Strong organizational skills; detailed and accurate Leadership, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills Willingness to take on responsibilities, challenges and additional duties as required Previous experience in Transportation/Logistics environment.
