ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB is seeking a driven Transportation Growth Leader for our growing practice to join our leadership team. The successful candidate must have extensive operational and business development experience, broad knowledge of the delivery of integrated transportation, engineering, infrastructure engineering, planning and environmental services to public and private sector clients, as well as a demonstrated ability to lead, recruit, mentor and manage teams. The successful candidate must be able to support a variety of initiatives that will help achieve success for our clients and benefits for our communities in Orlando, Tampa and Atlanta.
Responsibilities
Support Transportation Market and State/Local Market key initiatives including growing client base to further diversify our business and increase focus on more complex and game changing transportation projectsGrow our internal skill sets related to Alternative Delivery/Design Build and Program ManagementDrive the identification, pursuit and development of firm relationships with clients, partner engineers, architects and economic development agencies throughout the RegionWork closely with our Transportation practices across the Region (focus on Florida operations) to assist with pursuit strategies, operational/financial items, quality initiatives, service offerings, recruiting and staff and development/mentoringOversees relationships with key clients as it relates to performance and project delivery, and manages important project assignmentsServes as a VHB ambassador, promoting VHB’s success and seeking innovative ways to lead industry engagement and increase visibility in key external organizationsProvide support to each Managing Director relative to prioritizing Transportation and State/Local opportunities and our ability to maximize successAssists with Establishing of the office’s annual business plan and oversees the achievement of strategic business and financial goals including Net Revenue and New Work BookedDemonstrates business acumen through a thorough understanding and analysis of financial reports and other business tracking systemsCollaborates regularly with the Regional Manager to update on performanceCollaborates regularly with Regional Manager and Managing Directors to ensure strategic alignment on strategic initiatives for each of the offices and external visibility effortsProvides quarterly summary reports with documented understanding of market trends and forecasted actions/focus areasUnderstands the importance of strong local context knowledge and ability to develop key external relationships critical to building regional prominence and businessFacilitates and supports client relationships throughout the VHB Southeast region and marketsSkills & Abilities
Demonstrated track record in managing and growing an operationProven ability to build, oversee and lead a team of industry professionalsDemonstrates a working knowledge of the markets that VHB services and actively promotes the concept of integrated thinking within the organizationAbility to think and act strategically in developing business practices and approaches Exceptional teamwork and collaboration skills, including ability to mentor staff and successfully managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects and teamsHighly motivated self-starterExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to motivate and inspire staff to be their best in aspects of technical work and project managementQualifications
15+ years of relevant management experience in a multi-disciplinary firmBS in civil engineering, transportation planning, environmental services or a related fieldPrior experience in management or leadership positionKnowledgeable in a broad range of engineering, transportation, planning and environmental topics, spanning both the public and private sectorsAbility to travel up to 30-35% of the time.We are VHB!
