ABOUT THE POSITION

Transportation/Highway Design Engineer | Bedford, NH

VHB’s growing Bedford, NH office is seeking an experienced Transportation/Highway Design Engineer to join our Transportation team. Duties include highway engineering, stormwater management, drainage design, cost estimating, hydraulics and report writing.

Responsibilities 

Conceptual design and analysisDesign of highways and roads including development of geometric layout, grading and drainage, working with utilities, and environmental permittingPrepare and/or review design criteria, calculations, drawings, quantity estimates and specificationsDevelopment of 3D modelingTraffic Control and Constructability development and reviewTypical section development and pavement designSigning and striping

Skills & Abilities

Ability to handle multiple concurrent projectsStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsMicroStation and/or AutoCADOpen Roads and/or Civil3DStormwater analysisFinal Design Plan Development

Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering required, MS a plus5-8 years of professional transportation engineering experienceNH PE required or ability to obtain within 6 months
