Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly qualified Transportation Infrastructure Planner III for our growing Ohio statewide transportation engineering project work based out of AECOM's Columbus, Ohio 

Creatively solve multimodal transportation problemsConducts research, data reviews, and analysis to inform transportation decision-making and determine potential environmental effects with minimal directionInterprets and compares findings of relevant studies for compliance with local, state, and Federal requirements, standard procedures, and client expectations.Analyzes a wide range of planning, land use and transportation data and assist with technical analyses, feasibility studies, and other comprehensive plans, transportation reports or memorandums with minimal oversightAssist with modeling of travel time, ridership and cost estimates for public transit projectsLeads the preparation of reports and maps on various topicsLead research and technical analyses on land use and multimodal transportation planningSupports agency stakeholder and public engagement efforts.Prepare and give effective presentationsAbility to work independentlyWorking with an interdisciplinary team of technical specialists and managing their project-delivery efforts.Assisting with proposals and business developmentProvide oversight and guidance to junior staffGood written and verbal communication skillsWork in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.Assists with other duties assigned by senior staff and/or Project Managers.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

BA/BS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

BA/BS or other post graduate degree in Planning, Policy, or related fields + 4- Years of related experience and/ or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationMA/MS preferred in a related fieldStrong technical writing and analysis skillsSelf-motivated individual with strong organizational skillsDemonstrate excellent written, verbal, and graphical skillsExperience and comfortability communicating with and presenting to both small and large public audiences.Able to work independently but also collaborate closely with cross-discipline project teams to advance project goals.Coursework and/or project experience in transit planning and policy foundations including transit network concepts, conducting qualitative and quantitative assessments, and awareness of public engagement best practices.Experience with Federal transportation and rapid transit planning processes (e.g. bus rapid transit, light rail transit, commuter rail) including but not limited to, developing a Purpose and Need and advancing a project to a locally preferred alternative.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Basic proficiency with Geographic Information Systems such as ArcMap, ArcPro, and ArcGIS Online.Experience in preparing graphics and visuals for a technical and public audience.

The salary  range for this position is $90,000 to $125,000.
