About the role

Reporting to the Regional Transportation Manager, the Transportation and Logistics Manager is responsible for all localized activities of Bulk, Roll off and Non bulk Transportation and management of the Maintenance department.  Reporting directly to our Transportation Director, you will work very closely with the Dispatch team, Billing Team, Maintenance, and Operations Manager.   Accountable for the efficiency and professionalism of all drivers while maintaining all safety standards and complying with DOT regulations.  Expected to provide strong leadership to drivers to maximize operations.


Duties & Responsibilities:

Develop maintain, and promote an elite workplace quality, performance, appearance, and effectiveness.Set clear expectations, lead, coordinate, and manage all Transportation functions.Work closely across other departments/facilities including Admin, Ops, Sales in order to satisfy customer requirements and create strong performance standards.Work with maintenance department to ensure all equipment meets the DOT and CSA requirements.Analyze facility budget requests, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement while identify areas in which cost reductions and program improvements can be made.Monitors equipment to ensure all PM and inspections are completed timely while working with maintenance manager.Ensuring all preventative maintenance obligations are consistently met and equipment meets the DOT and CSA requirements.Performs weekly facility inspections and semi-monthly driver ride alongEnsures all permit books for each tractor or truck are up to dateMonitors Samsara and provides constructive feedback to drivers as necessary.Successfully manage employee performance while mentoring and guiding the overall growth of the transportation fleet.Promote a positive safety culture and safe work activities by conducting safety audits, conducting monthly driver meetings, and meeting with individual staff members.All other duties assigned.


Qualifications:

 High School Diploma, Bachelor's Degree preferredMust have a minimum of 5 years of transportation management experienceMust have experience managing: Dispatchers; Drivers; Managers (Ops/Maintenance) etc.Must have 5 years P&L responsibilityKnowledge of hazardous, non-hazardous, and universal waste.Understanding of CSA scores and DOT requirementsOutstanding written and verbal communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and OutlookAbility to analyze information and suggest improvements.Demonstrated attention to detail and time management skills.
