Transportation/Logistics Optimization Specialist

Job Description
An employer in the Nashville area is looking for an individual to support optimization efforts for the transportation department. Will partner and support distribution centers, retail stores, vendors and transportation group with improvement activities. Will find inefficiencies in the data by using formulas to mind and identify trends, will then use that information to tell a story and provide insight into how the company can improve to be more efficient. After identifying the problem, they will present solutions to stakeholders and then will deploy to the location to fix the problem. Will travel to the manufacturing plants/distribution centers 1 week/month -meeting with local site leadership, providing them with data findings, and making the change to ensure they are improving various KPIs that maximize service and costs.

Skills and Requirements
5+ years of transportation/logistics planning experience (any transportation experience as a dispatcher, manager, etc. - dealing with drivers, trucks, loads)
Strong analytical experience - analyzing data for trends, and identifying solutions (Need to have experience using data to drive decisions)
Advanced Excel experience - must have advanced formulas to mine data
Power BI or Tableau experience - need to be able to manipulate data within the dashboards
Comfortable traveling 1 week/month
Hybrid onsite schedule in Nashville
Bachelor's degree preferred in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field Any experience working with brokers, connections within the 3PL network, getting back haul lanes set up or empty miles projects null
