Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for routine maintenance and minor repairs to our company-owned passenger buses. This position is responsible for maintaining a high standard of integrity, service, and hospitality at all times to promote the Drury culture with guests and team members. This is a part-time evening position.
Qualifications:
Must have a Valid Florida Class B Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger and airbrake endorsement or ability to obtain by the time of hire
Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably with experience working on Gillig buses or other Cummins engines
Must have or have the ability to acquire the following ASE certifications within 90 days of hire: A-5 Brake, A-7 Air Conditioning, and T-4 Brakes
Must have or have the ability to acquire the MVAC 609 refrigerant recovery certification within 90 days of hire
Working knowledge of diesel engine systems, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, troubleshooting, computer controls, emissions systems, vehicle HVAC and electrical, and ADA ramps is preferred
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams is preferred
Must successfully complete a motor vehicle background check on the driver’s personal driving record annually. Violations will be reviewed by Human Resources and determined if the driver is eligible to continue driving based on the violations
Must meet all applicable federal DOT requirements and state requirements to drive company-owned buses
Must be able to safely drive company-owned buses
Must maintain safe driving record
Must perform all required pre-trip and post-trip safety check inspections when operating bus
Must inspect the bus when operating it for routine maintenance to ensure the bus meets company quality standards and takes appropriate action as needed
Must complete daily record of hours worked and meal breaks
Must perform general housekeeping and cleaning duties in/on buses as needed
Must secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift
Must be able to read and speak (or otherwise communicate) the English language sufficiently to converse with drivers, parts counterpersons, vendors, co-workers, the general public, officials, and other persons associated with hotel transportation and driving a bus
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
