This role blends both supervisory and driving responsibilities, offering the chance to lead a team while ensuring efficient route management and timely customer deliveries. **Your Role:** As the **Transportation Manager** , you'll have the chance to mentor, coach, and develop your team while managing delivery schedules and ensuring excellent customer service. **What You’ll Do:** + **Lead & Inspire:** Manage a team of drivers by offering guidance, coaching, and training to ensure smooth operations. Help develop strategies to improve performance and employee retention. + **Handle Routes & Deliveries:** Oversee and assist with delivery schedules, ensuring the timely delivery of linens and laundry. Cover routes as needed, especially during busy periods. + **Safety & Compliance:** Ensure that drivers follow all DOT and FMCSA regulations, conduct safety checks, and adhere to proper safety and cleaning standards for vehicles and shipments. + **Collaborate with Teams:** Work closely with HR, customer service, and production teams to address any issues with routes, schedules, or customer concerns. + **Fleet Management:** Monitor vehicle maintenance needs and coordinate with the leasing company for repairs or maintenance of trucks. + **Admin & Reporting:** Handle timecards, approve PTO requests, manage fleet reporting, and oversee inventory for transportation supplies. **What We’re Looking For:** + **Leadership Experience:** A strong leader with 6+ months of supervisory experience in transportation or logistics. + **Driving Experience:** A CDL (Class A preferred), and experience with both box trucks and semi-trucks. + **Proven Management Skills:** Ability to manage multiple priorities, delegate tasks, and inspire your team to meet company goals. + **Communication Skills:** Strong verbal and written communication skills for coaching, mentoring, and reporting. + **Hands-On Problem Solver:** Ability to step in and drive routes as needed while resolving issues quickly and efficiently. + **Experience with Route Management:** Understanding of budgeting, delivery windows, and route optimization. + **Compliance Knowledge:** Knowledge of DOT regulations and the ability to maintain safety and quality standards. **Additional Requirements:** + High school diploma or equivalent required. + **Clean MVR and valid CDL required (Class A CDL preferred).** + Ability to work nights, weekends, and long shifts as needed. + Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
