Stantec’s New England Transportation group is looking for a Transportation Planner in South Burlington, VT!
As a Transportation Planner, you will help Vermont communities improve the safety, accessibility, and function of the State’s transportation network. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams on a variety of transportation planning studies, collaborate with our engineering teams, develop scoping and corridor study documentation and reports, and perform research for projects as required. You will be working with us on transformational transportation projects including multi-use trails and paths, complete street reconstructions, roadway corridor improvements, traffic safety improvements, bridge replacements, resiliency assessments, and ecological restoration initiatives.
Your Key Responsibilities
Providing municipal and state transportation planning services across Vermont. Supporting other transportation and environmental planning and engineering teams in the region and nationally. Strategizing with local leadership and business developers on project pursuits and financial performance. Working with marketing teams to write successful proposals. Leading effective engagement and communication with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders. Representing Stantec professionally at conferences, tradeshows, and client-led functions. Authoring technical reports, proposals, and presentations. Providing client and regulatory agency deliverables. Preparing or guiding the creation of visual exhibits to support technical reports and presentations. Participating in team and independent work. Analyzing input from multi-disciplinary teams and consultants. Embracing quality assurance/quality control, and health and safety requirements.Your Capabilities and Credentials
Ability to work independently, take initiative, multi-task, and adapt to change in a dynamic environment. Excellent writing and communication skills. Ability to prepare technical reports with high quality graphics. Demonstrated team player with a positive attitude. Ability to creatively problem-solve and communicate to meet deadlines and client expectations. Working knowledge of federal and state planning and environmental regulations. Strong working knowledge of Adobe Suite and ArcGIS products. Strong attention to detail. Must have valid driver’s license.Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field. 10+ years of public or private sector experience preferred, however will consider a minimum of 5+ years of experienceTypical office environment working with computers. May occasionally visit study areas in Vermont and throughout New England.
