Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a highly qualified Transportation Planner III- IInfrastructure Engineering -in Chicago, Ill.
Responsibilities include:
Creatively solve multimodal transportation problemsConducts research, data reviews, and analysis to inform transportation decision-making and determine potential environmental effects with minimal directionInterprets and compares findings of relevant studies for compliance with local, state, and Federal requirements, standard procedures, and client expectations.Analyzes a wide range of planning, land use and transportation data and assist with technical analyses, feasibility studies, and other comprehensive plans, transportation reports or memorandums with minimal oversightAssist with modeling of travel time, ridership and cost estimates for public transit projectsLeads the preparation of reports and maps on various topicsLead research and technical analyses on land use and multimodal transportation planningSupports agency stakeholder and public engagement efforts.Prepare and give effective presentationsAbility to work independentlyWorking with an interdisciplinary team of technical specialists and managing their project-delivery efforts.Assisting with proposals and business developmentProvide oversight and guidance to junior staffGood written and verbal communication skillsWork in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.Assists with other duties assigned by senior staff and/or Project Managers.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
BA/BS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.Preferred Qualifications:
BA/BS or other post graduate degree in Planning, Geography, or related fields + 4- YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educatioMA/MS highly preferred in a related fieldStrong technical writing skillsExperience developing USDOT grant applicationsKnowledgeable of FTA CIG program and other transportation funding programsExperience advancing projects through the FTA CIG programProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPointProficiency with Geographic Information Systems such as ArcMap, ArcPro, and ArcGIS OnlineExperience in transit network and route designSelf-motivated individual with strong organizational skillsCoursework and/or project experience in transportation planning, GIS and data analysisExperience in preparing graphics and visualsDemonstrate excellent written, verbal, and graphical skillsAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.AECOM is interested in every qualified candidate eligible to work in the United States.
