Position: Transportation Pricing Analyst
Job Description:
Forward Air is seeking a Transportation Pricing Analyst for a new role that supports the organization by identifying and optimizing operational pricing processes. The successful candidate will be challenged with problems dealing with multiple facets of the business. The analyst will assist with pricing, network planning, operations analysis, and continuous improvement efforts.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
Develop understanding of customer’s transportation needs and service requirements Manage and complete RFP/RFQ pricing process to assist the Sales and Operations teams with successful and competitive customer submissions Actively assist in the monitoring and implementation of tech resources to complete the spot quote rating process Work hand-in-hand with Sales and Operations to successfully complete all pricing requests which fall outside of tech resources capabilities Create financial models for cost and margin analysis for pricing under different scenarios Communicate and collaborate with Division Managers to improve solutions design and cost model Assist partner divisions with tactical route planning using optimization tools, monitor performance, and lead corrective action initiatives Maintain customer and vendor pricing. Maintain intra-terminal revenue allocations Develop financial models and reports for ad hoc analyses to support different internal initiatives Other duties as assignedQualifications:
Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, sales or related field from an accredited university Logistics and/or data & analytics experience in transportation is preferred Experience supporting multiple locations/terminals and divisions Experience using data, statistical tools, and statistical software to identify high-impact process improvements and measure their effect Demonstrated ability to build credibility with operations management and influence acceptance and support of change initiatives MS Excel expertise is required, MS Access experience is preferred Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with multiple stakeholders in Operations, IT, HR, and Finance Minimal travel is required (Less than 10%) Flexible work hours as needed (to work with evening and night shifts)Skills:
