What we are looking for: Aldridge is seeking aProject Manager to join our dynamic and energetic team. This role will work collaboratively with the project team to ensure that a quality project is produced safely, on time, and within budget. Project Location: DC Area / Virginia Beach What you’ll do: Essential project duties including: + Function as the main point of contact for the project. + Manage all facets of a project including financials, planning, labor productivity, project execution and completion. + Direct workflow segments and make decisions concerning the financial management, scheduling, procurement and overall performance of a project. + Oversee all project functions as they relate to safety, quality control and team management. + Develop a budget from an estimate for each project by organizing project tasks in a clear and concise project plan that clearly defines all project requirements. + Manage budget; compare bids to actual project costs and implement necessary corrective actions. + Produce job change orders, evaluate and apply job estimates, and assist with new estimates as required. + Develop a baseline schedule for each assigned project to reflect accurate labor, material, equipment, subcontract time requirements, and project constraints. Measure the baseline against actual progress and implement appropriate corrective actions as necessary. + Expedite, negotiate, and approve internal charges and issues as well as external contract changes and issues. + Identify and track items by pay category, cost codes and cost types. + Maintain accurate, current, and complete records for all assigned projects. Measure and document both project and team progress results from planning through closure of the project. + Accurate management of subcontractors and subcontract progress including work completed payment and changes in subcontract values. + Understand and be responsible for compliance with Aldridge safety policies and support a “Safety First” attitude. Conduct regular safety tours on the project and ensure employee involvement and craft engagement in the safety program. + Promote safe job sites by partnering with the Safety Department to ensure safety issues are mitigated and/or properly addressed. + Define and specify Aldridge project team member’s roles and responsibilities. + Manage personnel and expeditiously and reasonably resolve internal team issues. Identify team members’ corrective actions to resolve conflicts involving time, cost, and performance, leveraging Division manager when appropriate. + Conduct regular external client check ins to mitigate concerns and issues. + As assigned, mentor and train Project Management candidates and Assistant Project Managers. Who you are: We are pursuing candidates with the following qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Management or other construction-related major. Equivalent construction or Union trade background is also considered. + Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience. + Exceptional skill sets including organization, flexibility, customer focus, and written and verbal communications.
