Freese and Nichols is seeking a Project Manager experienced in designing and managing roadway PS&E and Schematics to TxDOT standards. The office location is flexible with a preference for either Dallas, Fort Worth, Frisco, Houston, Austin, or San Antonio. As a Project Manager, you will lead the building of the FNI TxDOT market share using your TxDOT design experience and TxDOT network.
Responsibilities for this role include:
Providing supervision to engineers, engineering technicians, designers, drafting personnel, etc. assigned to transportation projects. Coordinating assigned work to ensure continuity, consistency, and qualityLeading design teams and representing Freese and Nichols on medium to large transportation projects.Coordinating with the transportation staff on transportation projects: roadway, bridges, culverts, transportation planning, traffic control, signing, pavement marking, H&H design, and environmental coordinationDeveloping relationships with the clientDirecting and supervising complex studies and investigations including schematics, PS&E and environmental coordination for transportation projectsEvaluating and analyzing project decisions to ensure objectivity, soundness of design, and impact of those decisions on schedule, budget, and needsMaintaining established schedules. Remaining up to date on existing and pending regulations and state-of-the-art technological advancementsServing as Project Manager for large complex projects requiring intergroup skills and subconsultantsParticipating in the administration, interpretation, and implementation of contracts.Mentoring staffPreparing memos, reports, specifications, etc. Reviewing plans for compliance with the TxDOT requirementsManaging team of various levels of engineers, engineering technicians, and other technical support staffQualificationsQualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
Professional Engineer Registration in Texas8+ years' experience in TxDOT PS&E and Schematics In-depth knowledge of TxDOT procedures, regulations, specifications, and documentation requirementsProven ability to pursue and win TxDOT contracts.Excellent communication and coordination skills for engaging with clients and meeting commitments.Preferred
