Transportation Quality Assurance Inspector Supervisor

JMT is seeking a Transportation Quality Assurance Inspector Supervisors for positions available on PennDOT’s Major Bridge initiatives across Pennsylvania. The successful candidates will apply standard quality assurance inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety, and conformance to plans, specifications and codes. 

Essential functions and responsibilities

This is a Quality Assurance Supervisory inspection position on a large, multiyear, complex, highway construction project which includes multiple structures, roadway restoration and traffic improvements. This position includes verification and documentation of compliance with contract requirements and PennDOT construction requirements. Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal requirements and safety regulations. Perform verification of conformance to standards for testing on concrete, soils, and other materials. Ability to measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes. Coordinate and supervise project quality assurance inspection activities and staff to ensure contractor compliance of plans, contract documents, specifications, and standards. Assign, schedule and maintain subordinate quality assurance inspection staff throughout all phases of the project. Work on behalf of the client to draft project correspondence, facilitate project meetings, and resolve construction related field issues. Gathers, reviews, and maintains project records (using PennDOT ECMS and other documentation systems). Compose field notes, computations and prepare reports as required. Interact with the general public, government agencies, contractors, sub-contractors, and other internal and external parties including response to inquiries.
