Maintains statistics and prepares reports. Examples of Duties + Prepares simple to moderately complex schedules for transportation services. + Groups trips into vehicle runs on the basis of run time plus allowances for delays, and established maximum operating time per vehicle. + Arranges runs and constructs schedules in accordance with labor agreements. + Enters schedule data into computerized schedule system. + Determines route headway and running time, and between points. + Prepares data on passenger load factors, route miles, route time intervals, etc. + Computes coach mileage from Service Inspector Reports. + Conducts field investigations and makes site inspections of proposed routes, measures distances and times, checks turnarounds and identifies layover and restroom facilities on schedules; and monitors operating conditions and procedures. + Responds to telephone inquiries regarding scheduling of coaches. + May perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School graduation or GED. One year of experience in a large urban mass transportation system, preferably including service inspection, station operation work, or in preparing transportation schedules. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted to meet the education and experience requirements of this position.
