Your role and responsibilities

In this role you will develop and implement regional strategies for road freight services, ensuring cost-effective and efficient transportation solutions. This role involves managing supplier relationships, driving performance improvements, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to align business objectives. Your strategic thinking, analytical skills, and deep understanding of the regional road freight market will be crucial in optimizing our supply chain operations and contributing to our team's success.This role is open globally, but location is set in ABB offices across Europe.The work model for the role is: hybrid #LI-hybridYou will be accountable for:Lead regional sourcing activities, primarily focusing on road freight, while also providing support for air and ocean services.Manage supplier relationships, and continuous improvement initiatives.Analyze market trends to find cost-saving and service improvement opportunities.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure alignment with category strategies.Monitor and report on category key performance indicators and metrics.Conduct and manage the annual RFQ process to ensure competitive pricing and service levels.Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.Stay updated on industry developments and best practices.

Qualifications for the role

Bachelor's or higher degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field.5-7 years of experience in category management, procurement, or supply chain management, focusing on transportation.Strong negotiation and contract managementExcellent analytical and problem-solvingSupplier relationship management and performance improvementStrong communication and teamworkProficiency in procurement softwareKnowledge of road freight market trends and regulations
