The compensation target range for this role is:

Purple is seeking a detail oriented, reliable and dependable Transportation Specialist to join our team of professionals. This position reports to the Transportation Manager and will be responsible for transportation bookings, tracking and tracing, consolidations, arrangement of special delivery services, and routing guide adherence.Hybrid schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM and On Call one weekend a month.Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
Owner and leader over assigned transportation activities inbound to and outbound from Purple Distribution Centers
Work as a member of the Transportation Team to ensure customer orders ship on-time and complete
Plan, book, track and trace assigned Purple shipments through to delivery
Follow operating procedures and promote continual improvement within the department and the company
Manage the quality, quantity, and efficiency of domestic inbound and outbound shipments
Coordinate with Purple’s Transportation Dispatchers in scheduling inbound and outbound shipments
Ensure that daily goals are met and sustained daily/weekly/monthly
Initiate, develop, and implement continuous improvement activities as they identify opportunities to improve operating metrics and performance, specifically related to cost, service, and compliance.
Assists in coordination with Purple’s vendors and carriers to align capacity and freight needs to meet inventory requirements.
Effectively completes projects independently or within a team as well as other work assigned by manager.
Assist in managing TMS to maximize efficiency of all shipments to meet and exceed operating goals of cost, service, capacity, carrier and vendor performance.
KNOWLEDGE BASE & SKILLS
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, ERP and TMS Systems preferred.
Understand cubing and dimensional shipping standards, FTL loads, LTL Load, Team Truck, Negotiated vs. Spot rates.
Knowledge of and experience with shipping, bookings, documentation and transportation functions.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Strong and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Sense of urgency and ownership
Meet necessary deadlines to have and receive domestic order on time (per Purple Logistics validated schedules).
Ability to work well under pressure and juggle multiple and changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability and willingness to take initiative.
Willingness to learn and work to the best of his/her ability.
1-2 years of experience minimum
High School Diploma required
