Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking an experienced Transportation Senior Project Manager. The selected candidate will have experience leading and advising on major transportation projects and infrastructure programs. Expertise includes program management, advisory, strategic planning, and the implementation of innovative solutions.
This individual will be part of the advisory team for the West Coast Transportation Business Line reporting directly to the Advisory Services Business Line Leader.
Clientele include Transit agencies, DOTs, and other State and Local governments in California, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon; and Airport and Ports and Harbors clients in 33 states in the US West. The Senior Project Manager will provide leadership in various subjects including, but not limited to, capital delivery programming and planning, delivery and procurement strategies, digital transformation, asset management, sustainability practices, change management, and delivering social value through the built environment. This Manager will need to be a self-starter who can build a high-performing team rapidly, demonstrate a successful track record in winning work.
Job Summary/Responsibilities
Qualified applicants will be able to demonstrate an established career in the transportation industry and have a successful track record with the delivery of transportation infrastructure programs and advising on complex projects. This is an exceptional opportunity to be involved with capital infrastructure projects for our clients. The applicant will have demonstrated experience in leading major pursuits and the delivery of major projects. The objective of the position is to lead, pursue, develop, and execute major projects required to deliver client programs within established and agreed budgets and schedules, thereby expanding AECOM’s reputation as the preferred and trusted transportation consultant in the industry.
The Transportation Senior Project Manager will need to be a growth minded leader who can work collaboratively with senior and executive leadership of clientele and other senior leadership within West Coast Transportation and other business lines.
The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:
Lead development and execution of significant transportation projects and support to the program leadership in project pursuits and deliverySupport clients in the design, implementation, evaluation and execution of programs, offering best practices and innovative solutionsOffer strategic and operational advisory services to support program planning, implementation, and evaluationEstablish relationships with Transit agencies, DOTs, and other state and local agencies.Be a visible leader and trusted advisor to clients by promoting AECOM’s values both internally and externally.Demonstrated expertise in the area of managing and preparing transportation project teams.Proven track record with large client account management, mega-project pursuits, advisory and engineering/planning staff development.A desire to work with external contractors/consultants, AECOM’s other divisions/regions and interact directly with major clients.Report directly to Advisory Services Business Line Leader and support development of internal business strategy and growth along with other senior leadership team membersBuild and cultivate a high performing team that focuses on general and program advisory services for transportation clienteleHelp build a strong and thriving culture in the business that promotes equity, diversity, inclusion, sustainability, and innovationQualifications
Minimum Requirements
BA/BS + 12 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 4 years of leadership.Must possess a valid US drivers licensePreferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, architecture, planning, or related degree in the AEC industryPrior experience leading multidisciplinary teams with an in-depth understanding of project stages, navigating challenges from planning, procurement, design, construction, and operation.Prior experience developing business and acting as principal specialist in client advisory engagements to executives in client organizations15+ years of experience in the AEC industry10 years' experience in leading infrastructure projects with project management experience.Ability to build broad and deep internal and external networks, and capable of communicating to inspire and lead others Ability to teach and mentor technical staff by demonstrated knowledge of relevant technical skills and experienceTeam-oriented individual with ability to work with minimal supervisionAbility to communicate clearly and simply to clients, leadership, and staffAbility to balance various responsibilities and deadlines while maintaining professionalism and qualityAdditional InformationRelocation assistance will not be provided for this role.
