What you will be doing

Supervises daily Transportation activities and personnel to ensure functions are performed within Company and Distribution Center guidelines. Provides excellent customer service to stores through timely and safe order deliveries. Provides team leadership and functional expertise.

This position is located in Irvine, CA.

 

Main responsibilities

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Provides daily work direction to frontline associates. Assigns drivers to loads ensuring compliance with Company and DOT guidelines. Uses technical systems for reporting and analytics. Leads daily performance meetings. Conducts performance, coaching, provides individual feedback and issues corrective action. Makes daily decisions impacting the business (including but not limited to routing, scheduling, labor management, retail service, and cost). Handles all team performance and personnel issues. Ensures accuracy of time & attendance, including payroll. Investigates accidents & injury incidents. Completes root cause analysis for Safety, Service and Cost KPI misses. Helps develop subordinates for next level. Performs duties according to regulations and policy (can include collective bargaining agreement) Ensures all drivers comply with Company, Federal and Local laws, and regulations. Must be flexible to work different schedules and shifts. Performs other management duties as requested, including special projects

The salary range is $60,700 to $78,940 annually.. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates. 

 

What we are searching for

Required Experiences and Characteristics

Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field; or  Has significant traffic management including truck and rail deliveries. To include a strong working knowledge of government regulations pertaining to transportation.  Prefer experience in the following applications but will train right person. (Prospero, XRS (ZATA/Omnitracs), Lytx, One Network)  Possesses strong supervisory skills with a minimum of 2-4 years’ experience as Manager/Supervisor/Lead Position, and with demonstrated levels of achievement.

Possesses superior analytical abilities, including strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.  Demonstrates a sense of urgency in performing all duties.  Adaptable and collaborative in working with others.  Organized, with good attention to detail, and demonstrated time management and implementation skills.  A team builder, who is approachable to others with strong listening, verbal and interpersonal skills tailored to the audience.  Effective at coaching and providing constructive feedback to subordinates.  Demonstrates initiative to accomplish daily tasks and resolve operational challenges.  Ability to influence and encourage change in people and the operation.  Coachable, receives constructive feedback and swiftly makes appropriate adjustments.  Must be mentally alert and able to safely ambulate the facility while equipment and machinery is operational. · Concentrates and multi-tasks despite continuous interruptions.  Solid computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, particularly reading, understanding, and manipulating cost and performance data in reports as needed. Performs all assignments with highest integrity.  Leads with compassion and promotes diversity and inclusion.

Physical Environment

Temperatures in the warehouse as well as ambient environment may vary between -20º to an excess of 80ºF, depending on work area and facility. Noise levels are within acceptable tolerance ranges for the specific work area. During part of the workday the incumbent may move around the warehouse, the yard, and the garage. Exposure to potential hazards exists including to machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanized systems, the movement of tractors and trailers, etc. Incumbent may alternate between supervisory responsibilities moving throughout the warehouse by sitting for periods of time at a desk or computer terminal, planning and monitoring performance. Walking, standing, bending, twisting, stooping, and lifting is required. Use of telephones, keyboards and other office equipment is required throughout the workday. Limited travel is required as needed for training, meetings and to support other transportation operations.
