Transportation Supervisor
**This position is pending Government approval.** **Purpose:** Performs mission support, analysis and duties pertaining to transportation functional areas and ensures supporting requirements and implied tasks are accomplished. Responsible for all transportation movement associated with the mission. Directs and coordinates traffic activities (to include packing, freight terminal, freight consolidation, shipment planning/tracking, and transportation movements and reporting) by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities personally or through subordinate employees. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** + Monitors and reports transportation status of commodities to and from customers located worldwide. Transportation conveyances may include monitoring, coordinating and reporting shipments of goods by military or commercial air, Commercial Line Haul, Rail, or ocean-going vessel. + Provides for In-transit Visibility (ITV) of all Government assets utilizing Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags on all shipments in accordance with Department of Defense Radio Frequency Identification policy. + Traces all Department of Defense (DOD) High shipments by maintaining access to IDE/GTN (Integrated Development Environment/Global Transportation Network) Convergence (IGC). + Provides visibility and tracking of all cargo processing and shipping activities utilizing various on-line reporting tools and reports. + Provides program level management of cargo in-transit visibility to Army Material Command using Global Air Transportation Execution System (GATES) + Prepares Truck Shipping Documents for Line Haul Inter-theater between sites, container movements from Sea Port of Embarkation to Sea Port of Debarkation, and local movements. + Maintains Technical Orders, publications, forms, and files required for Traffic Management operations. + Compiles data and submits reports and other correspondence as required. + Determines most efficient and economical routing and mode of transportation. + Directs scheduling of shipments and notifies concerned customers of arrival dates for critical items. + Initiates investigations into causes of damages or shortages in consignments or overcharges for freight or insurance. + Conducts analysis in areas of packaging and loading of commodities and evaluates existing procedures and standards. + Initiates changes designed to improve control and efficiency of transportation operations. + Interviews, recommends hiring actions, trains employees; plans, assigns and directs work; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems. + Ensures strict compliance to safety practices and support the Safety Policies and Procedures. + Instills a safety-first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries. + Adheres to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of Quality Management System. + Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested. **Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:** **Education:** + High school diploma or equivalent. **Experience:** + 7 years supervisory experience required. + Experience with the movement and transportation of heavy equipment and tracked vehicles is required. **Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:** + Must have a thorough and detailed knowledge of SMS, GATES Joint Operating Procedures and Execution System (JOPES), Global Command & Control System (GCCS), Global Transportation Network (GTN), Transportation Coordinator's Automated Information for Movement System II (TC-AIMS II), Joint Force Requirements Generator II (JFRG II) and Deployment and Sustainment Support Tool (DS2T). + Must have broad knowledge of transportation operations, practice, and policies as well as a thorough knowledge of transportation automated systems to satisfy user requirement. + Must be well versed with shipping processes and procedures. + Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the Logistics STAMIS in use and must be able to properly monitor production for compliance with scheduling directives, cost factors and other applicable standards. + Must be able to properly develop appropriate performance standards, track transportation production, and ensure facilities operate in a safe and efficientmanner. + Must have relevant experience to analyze requirements and production capacity to respond to requests for proposals for option years and special missions. + Must be well versed in Army operating methodologies and the use of appropriate logistic information systems. + Familiar and knowledgeable of DoD 4500.9-R + Must have intermediate knowledge with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word. + Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. + Must have the ability to interpret and implement local policies. + Must have progressive written and oral communications skills. + Must have strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work and communicate with others effectively. **Preferred Qualifications:** + MOS 88Z preferred. + International driver’s license prior to deployment preferred. **Certification, License & Clearance:** + Valid US Driver’s license required. + US Citizenship required. + Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a CAC, if required. **Facility credentials/authorization required** : Must be able to obtain and maintain facility and credential /authorization: Note- US Citizenship is required for facility credential/authorization at this work location. **Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:** + Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively. + Must be able to lift 50lbs. + Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures. + Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions. + When performing work, responsible for adhering to environmental, safety, and health standards related to the activity, including the wearing of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). **Other Responsibilities:** Safety – Amentum enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment.
